Happy Summer Solstice

Hey Vibe Tribe! You've probably read many summer solstice posts by now, but this one is different. Would you expect anything else from me?! 😂

I'm not going to duplicate the hundreds of spiritual posts, or the failed "freedom day" (in the UK) posts... No.... I'm going to give you my perspective on summer.

Let's go back to when I was a young boy, it doesn't matter how old, summers were always good.

I grew up on the outskirts of a town, with the countryside on my doorstep, so every summer was spent in fields or woods. Building dens, swinging on rope swings, being chased by farmers (😬 Sorry).

But the thing that always sticks in my mind are the sights and smells of summer.

Even to this day (and my brother will confirm this), there's a certain smell as the day is ending, whether it's cut hay, or just the smell of grass as the sun is setting and the air is becoming still. But that smell takes me right back to when I was a child running free in those fields.

These days I appreciate all the different shades of green, everything is in it's prime, almost at it's maximum state of growth. And to me, is there anything better than seeing those vibrant greens against a dark thunder cloud (maybe it's just me, I don't know).

The atmosphere of a summers morning or evening is special. The days... not so much... a little too hot sometimes. (For my American friends reading this, we don't tend to have air conditioning in our houses, don't ask me why đŸ€·â€â™‚ïž)

Anyway, the point to this post...

Appreciate all those different shades in life. The vibrant times set against the darkness.

Appreciate the years that got you here... who you are right now. You are unique and special.

Appreciate those smells that remind you of being young and free. By the way, you are a human being, you are always free, no one can take that away from you.

And appreciate every little moment... you don't need me to tell you why.
